The BFI London Film Festival, which opens October 12, has announced some additions to their lineup. The 55th edition of the festival, which runs until October 27, will open with Fernando Meirelles' “360” and close with Terence Davies' “The Deep Blue Sea.”

Films announced as additions to the festival:

“Alois Nebel”

Adapted from the graphic novels of Jaroslav Rudiš and Jaromír 99, “Alois Nebel” is a sophisticated and serious-minded reflection on recent history that is technically stunning in its use of seductive black and white rotoscope animation. A powerful debut from Tomas Lunak, and one of the year's true discoveries.

“Drifters”

A graphologist tries to help his colleague establish the truth of a will, while coping with the complications of the re-marriage of his father; the not entirely unwelcome attentions of his half-sister, who comes to stay with him before the nuptials; and the consequences of his friend's philandering. “Drifters” is a snappy, good-natured and sophisticated contemporary comedy.

“Tahrir 2011: The Good, The Bad, and The Politician”

Split into three parts, “Tahrir 2011” is a powerful, moving and surprisingly funny depiction of the moments leading up to the ousting of then-Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak after thirty years in power. Must-see for anyone who spent any time in late January and February glued to their TV waiting for history to unfurl before their eyes.

“A Trip to the Moon”

“A Trip to the Moon” is a superb color restoration of the pioneering sci-fi extravaganza that opened Cannes this year and serves as a curtain-raiser for Scorsese's celebration of Méliès in Hugo. This short film will screen alongside “The Machine That Kills Bad People.”

“The YouTube Interview with Seth Rogen and Will Reiser”

BFI London Film Festival is collaborating with Rogen and Reiser, the producer/star and writer, respectively, of the movie “50/50,” which is based on Reiser’s own coming to terms with his diagnosis of cancer. The film also stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Anna Kendrick.
