“Scripts Get Made”, an emerging screenplay competition offering unique prizes including guaranteed production of one grand prize winning script, launches its second annual short screenplay competition February 1, 2017.
Created in 2015 by literary manager and producer Matt Prater, owner of Los Angeles based Dedicated Talent Management (DTM), “Scripts Get Made” (SGM) was conceptualized to provide more tangible opportunities for screenwriters. “There are countless screenplay competitions taking place all over the world, and while most offer some sort of cash prize, as well as an opportunity to receive feedback from industry professionals, I found myself inspired to offer more to screenwriters. How about an opportunity to actually get your script produced into a movie that people can watch?”
Launched in partnership with Inner Image Media, a Los Angeles based production company owned by award-winning cinematographer and editor Miguel Amodio, the inaugural “Scripts Get Made” competition commenced in October, 2015 and generated interest from screenwriters around the world.
Alan Evans, a native of Ireland, and grand prize winner of the inaugural “Scripts Get Made” competition, says “When I first crossed paths with this competition in late 2015, it was the only competition I had heard of that guaranteed the winning script would be made into a film. An actual guarantee that a script would be produced, scored, edited… the whole thing. For anyone looking to kickstart their career as a screenwriter, this is the perfect way.”
Scripts Get Made offers additional grand prizes, including a red carpet world premiere at the 2017 Culver City Film Festival, and first look opportunities for global broadcast licensing as well as digital distribution.
